Taizhou is located in Zhejiang, "the centre of north and south, the junction of land and sea", is one of the 27 central cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, with a sea area of about 80,000 square kilometres and a mainland coastline of more than 600 kilometres.
In recent years, Taizhou relies on the advantages of marine resources, increase infrastructure construction, enhance the business environment, service and security strength, expand the breadth and depth of opening up to the outside world, and promote the development of the shipping industry continues to grow in size. As far as we know, up to now, Taizhou City, a total of 92 shipping enterprises, 344 ships in the register, with a total capacity of 5.2 million deadweight tonnes. In the first half of this year, the cumulative completion of the waterway freight volume of 61.973 million tonnes, cargo turnover 92.55 billion tonnes of kilometres, an increase of 3%, 10.3% respectively.

The event also held a launching ceremony for the addition of one million shipping capacity and signed five cooperation agreements. Among them, Linhai Municipal People's Government and Xiehai Shipping (Singapore) Pte Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement, the two sides will play to their respective advantages, to promote the construction of Linhai City harbour logistics hub, to explore the construction of multimodal transport as the main body of the digital, intelligent green logistics service platform, in the realisation of the bulk cargo transport "sea-rail intermodal", "water-water transfer", "water-water transfer" and "water-water transfer". "Water to water transfer" "regional distribution" and other aspects of a full range of multi-level cooperation, to promote the integration of regional economic development.
On the scene, industry experts and scholars made keynote speeches; in the roundtable forum themed "High-quality Development of Shipping Industry", experts, scholars and entrepreneurs discussed in-depth the current situation of the development of the shipping industry, scientifically analysed the opportunities and challenges, and jointly looked forward to the development prospects of the shipping market.
